New album!

Barcelona’s own The Excitements are back after a three-year hiatus with their latest effort, “Hard Times”, their 5th album.
And what a thrilling album this is! 
Never content with their achievements, they always find there’s “something else” left to be done, and working side by side with Neal Sugarman who has been in charge of the production they did it, with sweat, steel determination, and love.
Their love for the rich African American sounds of the 60’s and 70’s is the main inspiration in their sound and the blueprint for their songwriting. 
Call it R&B, Soul, Funk, or Jazz, you’ll find at least a little bit of each in their musical stew”.
 
This time, they have run the extra mile with some of their best songs ever. We all love their previous stuff, but this record is proof that “something else” has been done now.
While most of these songs are originals, there is also an unusual choice of a cover version for a band like this. They take “My Life’s Right” by Big Star’s Chris Bell and turn it into a surprisingly powerful and electrifying Soul number.
Sure, this is music straight from the Soul. And if you know your Soul music you’ll be at home. But it’s more than that.
